Trader Guide

FAQs and advice for first time and experienced traders.

Initially, comic-conventions were events focused on comic books and their sub-culture.  More recently, they have broadened to include multi-genre entertainment such as films, TV and gaming.

A comic-con is a place where you can meet media guests, take part in activities and experience inspiring attractions alongside exploring the geek market where traders are selling everything from custom artwork to games to collectables.

Comic-Cons are open to all ages and are a great, fun day out for families.  There will be young children experiencing their first comic-cons and veterans who have followed their culture from the beginning.

Most of our comic-con events open to advance ticket holders from 10am and the doors close at 5pm.  This may vary by event so make sure you read your set-up information.

The event starts at 10am but we have trader set up available from 7am.  For some events, we are able to offer a Saturday set up so you can be prepared the night before.  This will vary by event so please read your set-up information once you are booked in.

Please note, the doors are closed between 9am and 10am so make sure you have everything you need inside by then.

Nope!  Although our event is advertised as a comic-con and there will be people dressed up in cosplay, you are welcome to sell anything on our approved products list.  Unleashed Events Comic-Cons are aimed towards families so there will be a range of interests - not just pop culture and geek merchandise.

Most venues have catering available while the event is open to the public however they may not be open during trader set up times.   We would reccomend bringing a packed lunch with you and lots of water so that you wil be able to eat even if you are super busy and can't leave your table.

  • Invest in a card reader - it will help maxamise your sales.  Make sure it is fully charged so you aren't caught short.
  • Bring a cash float  - make sure you can provide change to all customers.
  • Consider a hand fan - the venues can get warm and you can't always leave your table to cool down.
  • Set off in plenty of time - once the trader doors close at 9am you won't be able to come in or bring more stock.
  • Staffing - each table booked allows you two members of staff.  Additional staff will need to pay so think about who you need.
  • Signage - Make sure you have signs or business cards/flyers so people can find you again.
  • Extra Stock - Keep your table full and maximise your sales chance.
